I understand how you find it quite frustrating to find the best meal replacement shake since there are already so many different options available today; each one of them claiming to have the ability to give you unbelievable results.
Unfortunately, it’s too expensive and such a waste of time to for some trial and error. But don’t worry! I’m here to help you! I’m going to compare two of the most popular meal replacement in the market today.
Idealshape vs. Shakeology – which product do you think could give you the best result? Keep on reading below to know the answer.
Comparison Between Idealshape and Shakeology
1. Which has the most nutrition?
There’s quite a tough completion between Idealshape and Shakeology since both are among the big brands in the meal replacement shake industry. But then again, no shakes are made equal. So let’s take a closer look at their nutritional profile per serving to help you decide which product to buy.
It’s quite appealing how Shakeology only has fewer calories you would normally consume in a meal; 130 calories per serving would absolutely help you with your weight loss goals. But IdealShape has much lower at 100 calories per serving.
Protein is good for weight loss. As you start losing weight, your body will also be losing both fat and bummer. Hence, it is important to keep on adding enough protein to your diet. Shakeology has a relatively high protein level at 16 grams per serving while IdealShape has only 11 grams per serving.
Fiber can help you lose weight and is undeniably important. Shakeology’s fiber content isn’t too bad at 3 grams per serving but IdealShape has much more at 5 grams per serving.
But here’s the real deal breaker, Shakeology contains sugar as much as 7 grams per serving. Of course, we want the sugar to be as low as possible to lose weight.
IdealShape, on the other hand, has much lower sugar content at 1 gram per serving. Wondering how did they even get away with this low sugar content? Well, they rely on artificial sweetener called sucralose. So IdealShape may not be the product for you if you are trying to avoid artificial sweetener.
It’s good to know that both shakes can provide you with the recommended daily intake of essential nutrients. Shakeology has more protein compared to Ideal Shape, but it has more calories and sugar too! Shakeology, on the other hand, has a plenty of unessential nutrients that contribute to its calories whereas Idealshape contains the standard nutrients.
So Idealshape vs. Shakeology, which one I’m going to choose? It would definitely be the one with more protein, the Shakeology.
2. Which one is better in controlling your appetite?
What makes a meal replacement a good choice is when it has natural appetite blockers that can keep you feel full for a couple of hours. Now let’s put Idealshape and Shakeology side by side.
For Shakeology, the main sources to block hunger and curb your cravings are fiber, minerals, vitamins and of course, protein. There are enough amino acids present in its protein to keep you feel full all the time. But I noticed that some flavors tend to give me better appetite control compared to others.
For instance, I noticed how Greenberry and Chocolate flavors filled me up quickly and curbed by the hunger for almost three hours. Strawberry flavor, on the other hand, made feel hunger only after one hour and a half. Well, I guess this is going to be subjective and will be different from one person to another.
In contrast, IdealShape combines fiber and a product named Slendesta to control hunger. Slendesta is a type of protein that can be found underneath potato’s skin. It contains natural extract of proteinase which signals your brain to stop eating and make your stomach feel full.
Well, true enough since IdealShape made feel full immediately after consuming it and this lasted for about more than three hours. I did not even feel the need to snack out and I felt my energy was boosted, which is an added bonus.
So for this round, it’s safe to say that IdealShape is the king in appetite control department!
3. Which one tastes better?
IdealShape comes in seven flavored shakes. These are:
- Chocolate cream pie
- Cookies n’ cream
- Orange cream
Orange cream is their latest flavor but I must say I enjoy vanilla and chocolate flavor the most. But if you want, you can always mix the shakes with some milk to improve its taste. There’s also a smoothie recipe booklet included on every box of IdealShape. So if you have some extra time, you can experiment with the recipes provided by the book. Mind you, the recipes are all good and exciting combination.
Shakeology also comes with seven flavors, two of it is formulated for vegan. These are:
- Café Latte
- Chocolate Vegan
- Tropical Strawberry
Unfortunately, I did not like any of these flavors. You can really taste the vitamins and minerals in it, as well as the superfoods. Some users even find Greenberry’s taste to be unbearable due to its grassy taste. I suggest you combine it together with other juice, like orange or strawberry juice, to mask the undesirable taste and make it a bit better.
4. Which one has the better texture?
The texture is another important factor you should not neglect when choosing the best meal replacement shake. And for this part, both shakes greatly differ.
IdealShape and Shakeology both come in a powder form that requires mixing with other liquid ingredients like water, juice, milk or ice. However, I find Shakeology hard to blend. No matter how much time I spent blending it in the blender, the large granules won’t go away. I also don’t like how it leaves residue in your mouth after swallowing.
IdealShape, on the other hand, blends quite well and gives out a beautiful smooth shake. Though it is sometimes grainy, you won’t find it chalky. Overall, the texture of IdealShape is good.
5. How about the price?
In terms of price, I’m sure there are only a few shakes that can match IdealShape; it is actually among the cheapest meal replacement shakes available in the market today. You will only need about $50 for a month-long supply or about $1.50 per serving.
Shakeology, in contrast, is most likely one of the most expensive shakes at $129.95 per tub. A tub has up to 30 servings, so each serving basically cost about $4.33.
IdealShape vs. Shakeology, which one do you think would win? Personally, both products for me are great, but I like IdealShape more since you would really get what you pay for and it also tastes better. Shakeology however, is the real winner when it comes to nutrients it can provide.
