Kennedy-Margdon Park Master Plan
June 2018 Update: The Playground is now open but there is still some fencing up to protect the newly laid sod.

May 2018 Update: Renovations are nearing completion, unfortunately the inclement weather in April delayed access to acquiring sod. The sodding operations are now scheduled and anticipated to be completed over the next couple of weeks including Site clean-up and inspections. Once substantially completed and turned over to the city it will be formally opened. The project remains on schedule for a spring opening.

April 2018 Update:  It is exciting to see the playground equipment installed at the park. However the work is not yet complete and it is imperative, in the interest of safety, that everyone especially children refrain from entering the construction site.
The work that is still outstanding includes electrical, pathway paving, tree planting, site restoration, and clean up. The contractor hopes to mobilize late this week, if the rain subsides, to start with the forming of the concrete footings for the relocation of the light poles. They will then work through the first week of May with the underground conduits for wiring. Starting the week of May 7th there will be more site activity to address the path ways and tree plantings.
There is a concern that the late spring weather has set back the availability of sod which is an item which could delay the completion. Staff will have to review the status in the weeks to come and I will update everyone as news becomes available.

March 2018 Update: Work on the first phase of this project has commenced, and the new playground equipment has been installed. The landscaping is expected to be completed in Spring 2018, with the aim to complete the project by summer 2018, weather permitting.

November 2017 Update: At the public meeting in June 2017, residents gave the green light on a design. Please see the images below to get an idea on some of the exciting enhancements that will take place beginning this fall 2017. If you have any questions, please contact my office at Please note that equipment has been removed from the park to allow for future improvements.
